Excellent Education in Mathematics and Statistics

At the end of 1999, the LSE's Departments of Mathematics and Statistics were thoroughly reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency. Our work was assessed with respect to six aspects of provision:

Curriculum Design, Content and Organisation
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
Student Progression and Achievement
Student Support and Guidance
Learning Resources
Quality Management and Enhancement

The Departments obtained the maximum rating in four of these aspects, and a total score of 22 points out of a possible 24. This result fully justifies our claim to provide an excellent education in Mathematics and Statistics, in the context of the LSE's international standing in the social sciences.
