Journals

I am on the Editorial Board of the journals Combinatorics, Probability & Computing and Order.

Research

Here is a pdf list of my academic publications.
Copies of my publications from 2001-2008 can be accessed via the CDAM Research Reports page. If you want a copy of any of my papers, feel free to email me.

My research is in the general area of Discrete Mathematics. Specifically, my current interests include:
(These headers will eventually all link to further pages with content and links. Probably. Sometime.)
Finite Partially Ordered Sets
Random Combinatorial Structures
Asymptotic Enumeration Problems
Graph Homomorphisms and Connections to Statistical Physics
Selected Applications

Courses Taught

In the academic year 2010/11, I will be teaching parts of each of the following courses:
MA100 Mathematical Methods,
MA201 Further Mathematics (Linear Algebra) (Lent Term),
MA408 Discrete Mathematics and Complexity (Lent Term),
Graph Theory (London Taught Course Centre) (Lent Term).

Othello

Othello is a boardgame I play seriously. If you are interested in learning more about the game, you might start by visiting the British Othello Federation.
You can find many of my articles on Othello (including some written under various pseudonyms) in the back issues of the British Othello Newsletter.

Pictures

There are pictures of me lurking here and there. For instance here and there. Not to mention this somewhat more recent one, or this less recent one.
